Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

General

Why doesn't my data get saved when closing the window?
To save data, always click the 'OK' button (bottom left) or the floppy .
Just closing a window will not save any entered data!

How can I cancel the search via input field?
You can try cancel a running transaction via key combination 'Ctrl-F12'.
If this is not working, you will have to wait.

How can I close all open windows at once?
Please select in the last menu entry 'Window' 'Close all'.

Why doesn't ClassiX® react to my keyboard entry/mouse?
This might have different reasons:
  • You have started a large transaction, such as generating a longer list.
The cursor will show that your computer is still busy.
(You can try to cancel the operation via key combination 'Ctr-F12'.)
  • The network connection is currently heavily used by other processes running on the server.
  • You didn't confirm an information message or problem report with 'OK'. This message now blocks the system until confirmed. You will find it on the start bar of your Windows environment.
  • The system ha crashed. Please restart your computer.

General problems when printing in Word
  • Writing authorization in temp?
  • Is Word still open in the background (evtl. more than once)?
    • End Word via task manager

General problems when creating a PDF
  • Why does the file get generated in reversed page order?
    • Change setting "Back to front" under AdobePSGenericPostScriptPrinters print options.
  • Why is the PDF file faulty or didn't get generated at all?
    • Reason for this might be the spooling of print jobs in Windows. Please switch "Print page in background" to "Print jobs directly to printer" under AdobePSGenericPostScriptPrinter print  Druckabarbeitung.

Incorrect text wrapping
  • What is the reason for incorrect text wrapping, if the text has been formatted in Word?
    or
Why is the headline on one and the text on the next page?
    • Edit text wrapping and change harter word wrapping to weicher word wrapping at the end of the headline (SHIFT+ENTER). Eventually reformat the following line as normal text.

Printing in ClassiX® and clipboard data
  • Why do I lose clipboard data after printing/why does clipboard data change after printing?
    • Printing in ClassiX® generates a Word document, which will receive all single elements from the Windows clipboard. Therefore it is currently impossible to regain old clipboard content after a print job (or a print preview).

Sending an email causes a problem report in Outlook
  • Why does sending an email cause a problem report in outlook and how can I avoid this?
    • In ClassiX, emails can either be sent with a specific print driver, or via Outlook. In the second case, the operation can be disturbed by a message in Outlook ("Another program tries..."). This problem can be fixed by installing the program Advanced Security for Outlook.

Missing information in data fields (person, signature, ...)
  • Why does it say "Dear ladies and gentlemen," in my cover letter instead of the receivers name(s)?
    • For quotations etc. you need to enter the receiver's name into the field "contact person" to make the name appear in the cover letter.

  • Why is this still the case after entering the contact person in this field?
    • Entering the contact person belatedly, ClassiX® won't recognize it automatically. Press "refresh" for correct display.

  • Why doesn't my signature appear in the cover letter (quotation etc.), although I am the registered processor?
    • The signature must be entered in the field signature under employee cast.

Online Help (Information Center)

How do I call the online help in ClassiX®?
Über die 'F1'-Taste Ihrer Tastatur öffnet sich Ihr Standard-Browser mit der Dokumentationsseite des aktiven ClassiX®-Fensters.

How do I use the online help?
Informationen zum Umgang mit der Online-Hilfe entnehmen Sie bitte dem Infothek-Leitfaden.

Why does only one page appear in the browser - where are the single navigation domains?
If you can't find the single navigation domains, as described in the Information Center Guideline, your browser's Javascript function has been deactivated.

To display the online help, we recommend Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 or a later version (zone "local intranet") with activated Javascript.

How do I get information on a specific topic/word?
Find information quickly with the integrated information center search function.

The search function sometimes takes quite a while. Is this normal?
A search process depends on the selected search area. For a user it is generally enough to search in AppsWH, other than performing a complete search.

Other criteria, such as browser, processor load or server-network-connection can influence processing time.

How do I print only the help page content?
For a detailed description, read Print information in the Information Center Guideline.

Can I adjust/extend help file content?
No, the ClassiX® Software GmbH directly maintains and updates the documentation.

Changing data is pointless, since all changes will get lost with the next update.

My browser displays problem reports. What do they imply and how can I avoid them?
Working with the information center, problem reports are generally just user information. To stop these redundant interruptions, it is possible to deactivate message display via internet explorer menu bar:
'Extras - Internet options...', in the appearing window select 'extended' and under 'browsing'deactivate 'display script errors'.
(keep 'deactivate script debugging' above activated!)

Known problem reports:

  • "Interface not supported" or "Error: 84 unknown error"
    • As you might have noticed, the information center displays the current documents name and date of last chages in the bottom left. Calling an Office document, unfortunately these data cannot be found and this problem report appears.
  • "The search function has an internal problem. ..." ("Interface not supported")
    • This problem report also appears in connection with Office documents. Whenever an Office document gets displayed as a search result, returning to the result list via browser might be impossible. When now activating the search button to regenerate the result list, this message appears and the search function will be reset.

How do I find out, when the help has been updated last?
To find out he date of the last update, call the search function. The search index creation date appears directly below the result list. Since the index gets updated once a day, the rest of the documentation can't be older than that.

For the editing date of a single file, check the bottom left in the information center.
Whenever there are major changes, the edited documents might be integrated directly. In this case the editing date might be in fact older than the search index.
