System Requirements

Client:

Minimum Requirements:
PC (x86 or compatible) with Intel/AMD processor with at least 1GHz, at least 256 MB RAM (ECC memory), and 1 GB free space on the hard drive.
(Our database supplier Progress Software Inc. recommends to use high quality ECC memory of to avoid database corruption. Using PCs without ECC memory, it is recommended to turn on the automatic memory check in BIOS, when starting the computer.)

Operating system Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional (SP2)
Microsoft Office 2000 or 2003, Office 2007 is not yet supported.
A browser of your choice with Java script activated to display HTML online help.

Recommended Equipment:
PC as described above with 1.5 GHz, 512 MB Ram (ECC memory), 2 GB accessible memory.
Remark: Even though ClassiX®  is not yet 64 Bit capable, we recommend to apply 64 Bit hardware together with 32 Bit operating systems, for investment security enhancement and memory maximization.

Network:

Minimum Requirements:
Switched 100 MBit Ethernet with name resolution.
 

Server:

Minimum Requirements:
A PC similar to the client with 2 GB free memory space plus database size (usually 5-20 GB).
(Our database supplier Progress Software Inc. recommends to use high quality ECC memory, to avoid database corruption. Using PCs without ECC memory, it is recommended to turn on the automatic memory check in BIOS, when starting the computer.)

Operating system Windows 2000, Windows 2003  or Windows XP Professional

Recommended Equipment:
Depending on the number of users, same PC as the client with 3 GHz, min. 4 GB RAM (ECC memory), directly connected active SCSI-RAID or external memory solution via Fibre Channel or iSCl in the determined network.

Remark: Even though ClassiX®  is not yet 64 bit capable, we recommend to apply 64 bit hardware together with 32 bit operating systems, for investment security enhancement and memory maximization.

Operating system Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 Server
Backup system on streamer basis.


Terminal server:

Depending on the number of users, same PC as above with multi-processor equipment Dual-Core or SMT processors, min. 4 GB RAM (ECC memory), internal SCSI-RAID for operating systems, database client and ClassiX® System.
