Installing the Netronic Components VarChart XGantt and VarChart XNet
It applies for the Netronic just like for all other ActiveX components, that
their setup on all client computers needs to be executed on all Rechnern auf einem lokalem Laufwerk
in das CX_LOCAL_DIRECTORY
Verzeichnis durchgeführt werden muss, von wo aus sie genutzt werden
sollen.
In the following, CX_LOCAL_DIRECTORY
indicates the ClassiX®
master directory, which is locally on the client. By default, this is
c:\ClassiX. This directory must not be mixed up with CX_ROOTDIR,
the directory in which ClassiX®
has been installed. In a standalone (test-) operation CX_ROOTDIR
equals CX_LOCAL_DIRECTORY.
- Please put the VARCHART ActiveX Control XGantt or
XNet 2.9 setup CD into the drive. With one of the CDs, it is possible to
install both controls!
Inscription inside the booklet: "VARCHART ActiveX
Control XGantt 2.9; Lic. No.: BX0190" or ".... XNet 2.9;
Lic. No.: NX0191". Inscription inside the CDs: "ActiveX Controls
2.9 12. Nov. 2002"
If the setup program does not start
automatically, this can be done by double-clicking on setup.exe in the root.
- Select the setup language "Deutsch":

- Confirm next screen. After this, in:

please activate the control box (accept licensing conditions). And continue.
- Confirm again. Now in:

select target path via "Scroll...".
This should be CX_LOCAL_DIRECTORY\Constrols\Varchart
by default. It is important, that CX_LOCAL_DIRECTORY
is a local directory and no mapped drive under a server.
After the selection, please confirm selection dialog and continune.
- Now, please select control language
Deutsch:

- Finally, please select the components:

ClassiX® only
requires the actual controls (1st and 3rd line). Samples are mainly VisualBasic
examples. XTree is not licensed by ClassiX®
and could only be used as a 30day demo. Same with the WebViewer.
Do not select
"Graphics export ..." under any circumstance!:
This selection makes a password entry essential, which now makes a
successful setup completion impossible. (And needs to be repeated.)
End this dialog and four following dialogs with "Continue"/"Finish".
- The setup is executed (status bar when copying data)
- In some systems, there is a setup information by the Acrobat PDF Reader
4.0x after the completion. This can be ignored. (Just confirm.)
These installed controls currently have only one computer- (runtime-)
or demo license. Program via controls requires licensing at the end:
Just working without any control setting modifications as they are integrated
in ClassiX® (also for
the ClassiX® user),
requires no separate (technical) licensing. Simple work place setups are
frequently reported to Netronic via ClassiX® and
licensed only via amount.
The control settings are saved in an Ini- and in a Ifd file. By default, they
have the same name as the calling module (e.g. gantitdm.ini and gantitdm.ifd).
They need to be treated like a part of the AppsWh - and get administered and
delivered with it.
Attention!
Only Ini- (and Ifd-) files that have been created/modified with a superuser- or
developer license (see below), can be used as a full version on a work place
computer!
A modification of workplace computer settings during the work in ClassiX® is
possible; these modifications are not saved though. Printing is also possible
with these changes, (e.g. with a modified cutline.)
It is also possible to create a new Ini-/Ifd file on a workplace computer. With
this, the control runs via demo version. (Nag message boxes,
inscription "Demo" in display and printout, alerts when calling "View...")
Other than in version 2.7 or 2.5, modifying control settings always require a
superuser license or
a developer license. The superuser license can be gained as follows:
- In the control attributes on page "general"

click on button "licensing".

Copy hardware ID number (blue) and mail to Netronic.
- Netronic sends a mail with attachment back. There is an attachment with
one or two *.lic files vcgantt.lic or. vcnet.lic. They need to be copied
into the equivalent control setup directories. There, they replace demo
licenses that have been created during installation.
- If working with a runtime- (generated on another superuser-/developer
system) or with a demo Ini before, the Ini file
- The file varchart_xgantt27.exe is under the ClassiX®
installation directory (CX_ROOTDIR\Inst), in directory VarChart.
It has to be executed.
- After selecting the language ("Deutsch") in the first menu (for the actual
setup) and after confirming with the next button "Continue", the setup path
must be selected in the third dialog:

Here, the directory CX_LOCAL_DIRECTORY\Constrols\XGantt
will be selected via "Scroll..."
After this, please select "Continue" again. Important!
The indicated drive always has to be a local one - integrated into a
client computer.
- The question about creating a backup can also be answered with a simple
"Continue":

- The language has to be switched to "Deutsch".
Confirm with "Continue":

- Confirming again with "Continue" starts the setup.
Now it can be seen, how data gets copied to the local hard drive.
- The copy process is completed by clicking "Complete".
- Now enter the registration information:

In case you have no registration information from ClassiX®,
please confirm "Trial Installation". If you have such a client license, the
control still runs as a full version. In case you have a registration number
including code, please click "Registered User".

The specification Name should conform with the local user.
As the Company, please enter exactly "ClassiX Software GmbH".
For RegNo and Code, please enter the numbers from your ClassiX®
account manager. You have entered the correct (valid) values, if the "OK" button
is active only and exactly then (black writing).
Please also make sure, that the registration number and code are only valid
for the according version (here: 2.7) and cannot be adopted.
The additional XGantt feature 'Histogramm', will also be installed
automatically, as long as the required additional license has been purchased.
- With this, the setup is completed. Systems such as 95,98 or ME might need
to be restarted now, before the XGantt control is usable in ClassiX®.
The XNet setup is equivalent to the XGantt setup:
- the setup file name is varchart_xnet25.exe
- a recommended setup directory is
CX_LOCAL_DIRECTORY\Controls\XNet
- the registration code for XNet is different to the XGantt registration
code; licenses for XNet and XGantt need to be purchased separately
