The ObjectStore Setup automatically starts after starting the ObjectSore setup file.
The setup path should be left on the default setting C:\ODI.
Now please select 'Custom' in the following dialog:

The checkmarks can remain in your presetting. To save space, it is possible to deactivate the Java interface:
To execute osgc on the computer, it is also necessary to install the Java interface!

Please select 'Both client and server' in the next dialog

Just click next in the next two dialogs; the setup starts now.
Then make the following changes: select 'Yes':

Select the entry 'Authentification required':
After Windows 2003 and ObjectStore 7.1, this value should
not be changed. Otherwise, ObjectStore cannot initialize the transaction log
file.
First, complete the installation in this system and after
log file initialization,
* execute the setup program again,
* select
change server parameter
* and finally set the server parameter "Authentication required"
to "None".

And click the button 'Edit Value' and enter the value 'None'::

Confirm with OK and do not change settings in the next template:

Change to 'Yes' in the next template to initialize:

Adjust path to the directory indicated at the start:
After ObjectStore 7.1, the transaction log will be created in the ObjectStore root directory (c:\ODI_7.1) by default. For better performance, it might make sense to put the logfile on the own hard drive.

The server starts automatically:

Answer next dialog with 'Yes':

After confirmation, the checkmark will be taken out of 'View the readme file' and the setup is ended.
After the setup, please open the services above the task manager:
Now click on the button "Services" at the very bottom right. A new window "Services" will open now.
Please select the ObjectsStore Cache Manager and right-click. Now select "Properties"
in the new menu and change to "Log on". Select "This account" and enter the
local administor name via password.
Confirm with OK and restart the service.
Please repeat this for the service "ObjectsStore Server".
After all it is necessary to enter the environment variable OS_SCHEMA_PATH for the system variables with the path with 4.4 DLLs:
Now ClassiX runs under Vista.
